Connect Notion for the team
For owners and admins, let the team’s thinking or a group’s learn from the team’s Notion pages.
Connecting Notion for the team lets the team’s thinking, or one group’s, learn from the pages where the team writes down how it works: a handbook, runbooks, specs. Alongside Slack, trackers, and code review, which show how work actually goes, Cranes can notice where the two differ. Only a team’s owners and admins can set it up, and only in a team workspace.
This is separate from bringing your own Notion history into your own thinking, which stays personal.
Set it up
- In Cranes, open Settings › Sources and choose Connect Notion.
- Choose What it feeds: the team’s thinking, or a group you’re in. Then choose Continue to Notion.
- Notion asks you to sign in if needed, then which pages Cranes may read. Pages inside a page you choose come along.
- Notion sends you back to Settings › Sources.
Cranes reads the chosen pages straight away, then edits about every 30 minutes. To share more pages later, add them to Cranes from the page’s ⋯ › Connections menu in Notion.
What becomes an entry
Each shared page becomes one entry: its title, its properties, and its text. When a page is edited, the newer version replaces the older one. Pages in the trash are skipped.
Pages are learned in the next pass, and what a page says is treated as how the team describes its work, not as proof of how it’s done. Everyone who can read the thinking it feeds can see these entries.
Disconnect
Only owners and admins see Revoke. It stops reading. Entries already brought in stay, with their usual entry settings. To stop reading one page, remove Cranes from that page’s connections in Notion.
