Start a team workspace
Create a team, invite the people you work with, and start the team’s thinking.
A team workspace holds the team’s thinking, which everyone on it reads and adds to, and each person’s own thinking there, which nobody else sees.
Create one
- Open the account menu and choose New team workspace.
- Give the team a name.
- Choose Create team.
Cranes switches you to the new team and opens Settings › Team, ready for invitations. You’re the team’s owner.
Invite people
In Settings › Team, type an email under Invite by email and choose Invite. Someone with a Cranes account joins immediately. Anyone else gets an email with a link to sign up, which lasts seven days, and joins the team when they do. See People and roles.
Give it something to learn from
The team’s thinking starts empty. It fills from entries people add to it:
- Switch to The team’s thinking from the slip at the top of your contents, open Entries, and choose Add to write a note or add files.
- Share an entry or a chapter from your own thinking with the team.
- Connect a Slack channel. See Connect Slack.
The team’s thinking learns from new entries together, each night. To learn from what’s waiting right away, an owner or admin can press Learn now. See The team’s thinking.
