Ask @Cranes in Slack
Link your Slack account, then mention Cranes in a channel to get an answer from the team’s thinking.
If your team connected Slack to answer when mentioned, you can mention @Cranes in a permitted channel and it replies in the thread, drawing on the team’s thinking or the group’s the connection feeds.
Link your Slack account first
Cranes only answers people it can match to someone on the team.
- In Slack, open your profile, choose More, then Copy member ID.
- In Cranes, open Settings › Team and paste it under Your Slack member ID.
- Choose Save.
If you mention Cranes before doing this, it replies: “I can’t tell who you are in this Cranes team yet,” and points you to Settings › Team.
What the answer uses
- Only the thinking the Slack connection feeds: the team’s, or one group’s plus the team’s.
- Never anyone’s own thinking, including yours.
- Never the exact words of entries marked Keep off connected AIs.
Everyone in the channel sees it
Replies are posted in the channel’s thread, so they’re as public as the channel. That’s why a Slack connection should only feed a group whose thinking everyone in the channel is allowed to see.
Correcting it in Slack
If an answer is off, say so in the thread. Your message becomes an entry and is weighed in the next pass. Cranes won’t claim it has learned or changed anything in its reply, and one message never becomes the team’s position by itself.
