Personal and team workspaces
One account, a personal workspace, and any teams you join, each with its own thinking for you.
Everyone has a personal workspace, set up when you sign up. You can also belong to team workspaces. It’s all one account, with one sign-in.
What’s in each
| Personal workspace | Team workspace | |
|---|---|---|
| Your own thinking | Yes, only you read it | Yes, a separate one, only you read it |
| The team’s thinking | No | Yes, everyone on the team reads it |
| Groups | Yes, with people you invite by email | Yes, with teammates |
Your thinking in a team is separate from your personal thinking. Nothing moves between them on its own. What you say in a team workspace teaches your thinking there, and what you say in your personal workspace stays in your personal thinking.
That’s deliberate. Work you do for a team shouldn’t quietly reshape your personal thinking, and your personal life shouldn’t leak into how your team sees you.
Switch workspaces
Open the account menu and pick a workspace under Workspaces. The list appears once you belong to more than one. You land on your front page there.
Inside a workspace, the slip at the top of your contents switches between whose thinking you’re reading: yours, the team’s, or a group’s.
If you leave a team
When someone is removed from a team, their own thinking in that team is deleted, because it was drawn from team work and only they could read it. What they shared with the team or a group stays there, credited to them. Their personal workspace isn’t affected.
