Connect Granola

Connecting Granola lets Cranes learn from your meetings. Each meeting goes to one place: your own thinking, one of your groups, or the team’s. Anyone can connect their own Granola, in a personal or team workspace.

Set it up

1. In Granola, create an API key in its settings. Granola offers API keys on its Business plan.
2. In Cranes, open Settings › Sources and choose Connect Granola.
3. Paste the key, choose Where meetings go, and choose Connect Granola.

Cranes reads your last two weeks of meetings straight away, then new and updated meetings about every 15 minutes. Your key is stored encrypted and is never shown again.

Where each meeting goes

With Keep it where it clearly belongs, ask otherwise, a meeting goes on its own when who attended makes it clear:

• Only you were there: your own thinking.
• Everyone there is in exactly one of your groups: that group’s thinking.

Anything else waits for you, including meetings with anyone from outside the workspace and one-on-ones that aren’t a group. A meeting never goes to the team’s thinking on its own, since everyone on the team can read it, not just the people who were there; choose it yourself when that’s where a meeting belongs. With Always ask me, every meeting waits.

Waiting meetings are listed under the Granola connection in Settings › Sources. Choose where each one goes and Keep, or Skip it so nothing from it is kept. You can change Where meetings go at any time; it applies to meetings that arrive afterwards.

What’s kept

• Granola’s summary of the meeting, marked as written by Granola’s AI, never as anyone’s own view.
• Your private notes from Granola, only when the meeting goes to your own thinking.

Transcripts aren’t brought in. When a meeting’s notes change in Granola, the newer version replaces the older one. A meeting that goes to a group’s or the team’s thinking is learned from as soon as it arrives, together, rather than waiting for the next pass.

Disconnect

Choose Revoke beside the Granola connection. Cranes stops reading your meetings. Meetings already kept stay where they are, with their usual entry settings.
