Adopt a page as the team's position
For a team’s owners and admins, make a page someone shared what the team stands by.
Most of what Everyone holds comes from weighing what many people say. Sometimes a team wants to settle something: this is how we do it. Adopting a page makes it the team’s position.
Only a team’s owners and admins can adopt. Groups have no owners or admins, so adoption is for Everyone only.
Adopt a page
Any of these works:
- A page someone shared with the team: on Home, under For you, choose Adopt.
- The same page later: open Entries, find the shared page among Everyone’s entries, choose ⋯ beside it, then Adopt as the team’s.
- A page of your own: choose ⋯ beside its title, then With the team, adopted as the team’s.
Everyone’s thinking publishes it at once, exactly as it was shared. It reads “Adopted as the team’s position by … on …, from …'s page,” and connected AIs receive it as the team’s adopted position.
What changes
An adopted page holds still. Later learning never revises, merges, or retires it. Where members’ work departs from it, Cranes notes those as exceptions, and owners and admins see on the page, and under Needs a look, when they build up. That’s a signal to look again, not a decision.
While a page is adopted, the person who shared it can’t stop sharing it, and the page doesn’t offer I see this differently now…. If they share an updated version, you can adopt that one.
Stop adopting
Open the page in Everyone and choose Stop adopting, beside the line that says it was adopted. It goes back to being learned like any other page, as one member’s view.
