Pin, rename, and move

Pin, rename, and move pages and topics. Your choices stay put as Cranes keeps learning.

Cranes arranges pages into topics, but you have the last word. None of this changes what a page says; it changes how the place is laid out.

Pin

  • A page: choose ⋯ beside its title, then Pin.
  • A topic: open the topic, choose ⋯, then Pin.

Pinned pages and topics are listed under Pinned, at the top of Pages in the sidebar. Choose Unpin in the same menu to undo it. Pins are yours alone, in every place.

Rename a page

  1. Choose ⋯ beside the page’s title, then Rename…
  2. Type the new title and choose Save. Esc cancels.

Your title stays as the page develops. If the page later moves far from what it was when you named it, the page asks whether to Keep your title or Use Cranes’ title. To hand the name back at any time, choose Use Cranes’ title from the ⋯ menu.

Rename a topic

  1. Open the topic.
  2. Choose the pencil beside its name.
  3. Type the new name and choose Save. Esc cancels.

Later reorganizing keeps your name. Let Cranes name it, in the topic’s ⋯ menu, hands it back; Cranes may then suggest a new name under Needs a look, and nothing is renamed until someone applies it.

Move a page to another topic

  1. Open the page.
  2. Choose ⋯ beside the title, then Move to topic.
  3. Pick the topic.

The page stays there when Cranes reorganizes, and says “You placed it in this topic,” with Let Cranes place it if you change your mind.

To move a page to another place instead, see Share a page.
