Open Cranes

Bring history from ChatGPT, Claude, or another AI

Ask an AI you’ve talked with for a while to gather your own words, then paste its answer into Cranes.

An AI you’ve talked with for months has already seen how you think. Cranes gives you a prompt that asks it to gather the moments that show it. You paste the prompt in, then paste its answer back.

Steps

  1. Open the account menu (your photo and name, at the bottom left) and choose Bring history.
  2. Under From an AI you talk with, choose ChatGPT, Claude, or Another AI.
  3. Choose Copy prompt.
  4. Open that AI, start a new chat, paste the prompt, and send it.
  5. Copy its whole answer, including the first line, which starts with “Access:”.
  6. Back in Cranes, paste it into the box and choose Import.

If the answer stops early, choose Copy the continue prompt, send it in the same chat, and paste the new answer below the first.

What you bring goes to Just me in your personal workspace. If you open Bring history from a team, Cranes offers to open your personal workspace first.

What the prompt asks for

Up to 35 moments where your own words show how you think: when you pushed back, chose between options and said why, set a standard, changed your mind, or explained how you approach a problem. Each is quoted exactly, with a line of context and, if the chat shows it, what you decided. The whole answer stays under 3,000 words, so even a long history takes a minute or two.

The AI doesn’t describe or judge you, and anything it can’t quote exactly is marked as a paraphrase. It skips your health, money, and other people’s private lives. If it can’t see your past chats, it says so on the “Access” line instead of inventing them.

Good to know

  • Each moment becomes its own entry, so a page can point back to exactly where it came from.
  • Pasting the same answer twice doesn’t add it twice.
  • You can paste up to 400,000 characters at once.
  • Some AIs see only part of your history, or none, depending on your plan and memory settings. In ChatGPT, turning on Reference chat history in its personalization settings lets it see more.
  • If one AI has seen a different side of you, bring history from it too. It all goes into the same place.
