Read a page
What each piece of a page tells you, from its moments to why it reads the way it does.
A page opens with its title and the topic it’s in. The first paragraph is the heart of it; the sections after it explain it. Under each paragraph is a quiet row of links. Each opens in a column to the right, and Esc closes it.
Moments
7 moments (or however many) opens the exact passages the page rests on, in the words they were written, and says who wrote each. This is the quickest way to check whether a page is fair.
The column has a search box and a Filter button for narrowing them down:
- Written by: you, or an AI.
- From: Cranes, Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, Notion, Slack, or another connected AI.
- Learning: whether the moment is learned from, or has been left out of learning.
Filters only appear when there’s more than one option to choose from. The small logos beside the moments link show which apps the page’s material came from.
Why it says this
Why it says this opens the reasoning behind a section:
- Why it reads this way: what in your words led here.
- How it shapes answers: what a reply drawing on this would do differently.
- Other possible readings: a different way to take the same evidence, where there is one.
- What would change it: the kind of thing that would make Cranes revise it.
Still forming
A section marked Still forming is one Cranes holds loosely. The evidence is thin, or points in more than one direction. Treat it as a question more than a claim.
Redrafted
Redrafted means the page has been rewritten. Opening it shows the draft number and date, then What changed and What stayed. Earlier wording isn’t shown, because it may rest on material you’ve since removed.
Moving between pages
The links at the bottom go to the previous and next pages. You can also press ← and →.
The page menu
The ⋯ beside the title holds what you can do with the page: pin it, rename it, move it to another topic, share it or move it to the team or a group, archive it, or say you see it differently now. Those are covered in Pin, rename, and move, Archive a page or topic, and Share or move pages.
