Help Connected AIs

Connect your AI

Add Cranes to ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, or any app that supports MCP, and choose what it can use.

Connecting takes a minute. You add Cranes in your AI app, sign in to Cranes when it asks, and choose what that app may use.

In Cranes, Connect your AI in the account menu shows a card for each app, with a link to the right place or, for other apps, the address to add.

ChatGPT

  1. Open ChatGPT’s apps and connectors page from the ChatGPT card in Cranes, or go to chatgpt.com/apps.
  2. Find Cranes and add it.
  3. Sign in to Cranes when asked, choose what it can use, and choose Allow.

Claude

  1. Open Claude’s connector directory from the Claude card in Cranes, or go to claude.ai/directory.
  2. Find Cranes and connect it.
  3. Sign in to Cranes when asked, choose what it can use, and choose Allow.

Connectors you add on claude.ai also work in the Claude desktop and mobile apps.

Grok

The Grok Bot card in Cranes links to xAI’s guide for adding plugins. Follow it to add Cranes, then sign in and choose Allow.

Any other app

Many AI apps, including coding tools, let you add an MCP server by its address. Use this one:

Look for a setting called something like Connectors, Integrations, MCP servers, or Add custom connector, paste the address, and save. The app sends you to Cranes to sign in and choose what it may use. The Other AIs card in Cranes has a copy button next to the address.

The screen where you choose

Every app ends on the same Cranes screen, Connect … to Cranes, which asks:

  • What it can use: one checkbox for each: your own thinking, the team’s, and each of your groups, in every workspace you belong to. Everything in your current workspace starts checked, except groups kept off connected AIs; nothing elsewhere does. The app never sees anything you leave unchecked.
  • Include groups you join later: on for your current workspace to start. New groups become available to this app, but only when you name them in a conversation.
  • Keep my own ideas: whether Cranes may keep your own ideas from this app’s conversations to learn from. On to start.

Choose Allow, and you’re sent back to your app. Everything here can be changed later in Settings › Connections. See Choose what an AI can use.

Try it

Start a new conversation in your AI and ask about something you’ve thought about in Cranes. Or type @cranes to make sure it uses your thinking. See Use Cranes from your AI.
