Claude
Add Cranes to Claude on the web, desktop, and phone as a custom connector, sign in, and type @cranes when you want your thinking.
What you get
Claude can bring your thinking into a conversation when you ask, and save to Cranes when you say so. Add Cranes once on claude.ai and it works in the Claude desktop and phone apps too.
Set up
- In Cranes, choose Use in other AIs in the sidebar.
- Under Add an AI, on the Claude card, choose Open Claude Connectors. Claude opens Add custom connector with Cranes’s name and address filled in.
- Choose Add, then Connect beside Cranes.
To add it by hand, open Claude’s connector settings, add a custom connector named Cranes with the address https://usecranes.com/connect/mcp, and leave any client ID and secret empty. Which Claude plans include custom connectors is in Claude’s own help.
Claude sends you to Cranes. On Connect Claude to Cranes, check what Claude may use, choose whether to Keep my own ideas, and choose Allow. You’re sent back to Claude. See Choose what it can use.
What’s automatic, and when you ask
- Your thinking comes in when you ask. Type
@cranes, or ask what your thinking, the team’s, or a group’s says.@craneson its own checks the work in front of Claude against your thinking. Claude shows what Cranes guided and where each part came from, with a view of the pages it used. - Saving waits for your yes. Ask Claude to save something, or say yes when it offers.
- To skip typing
@cranesin a Claude project, copy the line under Have your AI use Cranes on its own on Use in other AIs into the project’s instructions. The line names whose thinking to use, so the whole project uses the same one.
See When Cranes comes in.
