Open Cranes

Choose what an AI can use

Change what a connected AI may use, turn groups on or off for it, let it into a team you joined, or remove it.

Every connected AI can use only the thinking you chose for it. Changes take effect on its very next request.

Change what it can use

  1. Choose Use in other AIs in the sidebar. It opens Settings › Connected AIs.
  2. Under Your AIs, choose the AI’s row. Each row says what it uses, how Cranes comes in, and when it was last used.
  3. Under What it may use, each workspace you’re in lists your own thinking, the team’s, and each of your groups. Turn each one on or off.
  4. Groups you join later decides whether groups you join in that workspace come in too, only when you name them.

At least one thing has to stay on. To cut an AI off completely, remove it.

A workspace the AI can’t use anything in shows Let it use everything here. When several AIs can’t use the same workspace, Let them use everything there does it for all of them.

Remove an AI

Open its row under Your AIs, choose Remove, and confirm. It loses access right away. What it already saved stays in Entries, where you can remove it.

Groups

An AI uses a group only when you name the group, and only when all three of these allow it:

  • You. The switch for that group on the AI’s row. The group’s People page also has a Connected AIs section with a switch for each of your AIs.
  • The group’s creator. On the group’s People page, Everyone’s connected AIs can use … turns the group on or off for every member’s AIs.
  • The team. In a team, owners and admins choose under Settings › Groups, in Groups and connected AIs: Groups decide, on to start, Groups decide, off to start, or Keep groups off connected AIs.

A group kept off by its creator or the team shows greyed, with who decides. If you name it anyway, your AI tells you it isn’t available, and nothing is kept there.

The team’s limit

In a team, owners and admins set a limit for everyone’s AIs under Settings › Security, in Connected AIs: What each person chooses, Their own thinking only, or Nothing here. The same section lists the AIs members connected, and can disconnect one from the team.

When you join a team or group

Joining a group takes effect on your AI’s next request. If Groups you join later is on, it’s ready as soon as you name it. When someone adds you to a group, For you on Home says whether your AIs can use it, with Let … use it or Keep off AIs.

A team you join after connecting an AI isn’t turned on for it by itself, because sharing a team’s thinking is your choice. Until you choose, For you on Home says which AIs can’t use it, with Allow, Choose, and Not now, and Use in other AIs in the sidebar is marked.

Leaving a team or group takes effect right away.
