See what Cranes brought into a reply
Brought in shows what was offered to each reply, and where every piece came from.
Before each reply in a thread, Cranes decides which parts of your thinking bear on your message and brings them in. Brought in, in the thread’s bar, shows you exactly what that was, for every message. The number beside it counts the messages that had something brought in.
It shows what was offered, not proof that each piece changed the reply.
What you’ll see
Each entry starts with your message and the time, then:
- What changed: the short version of what Cranes offered.
- Pieced together: what was already worked out, the position you’ve taken, how your thinking has moved, and what’s still open. Sometimes there’s A reading to test, shown alongside another way to read it, since Cranes isn’t sure.
- Understood, Noticed, Kept, Asked, Avoided: what the reply was steered to understand, notice, preserve, question, or stay away from.
- Chapters it used, each with when it applies. Chapters from the team’s or a group’s thinking say so.
- From entries: the exact passages quoted, with the entry and date. Passages an AI wrote are marked.
When there’s little or nothing
Plenty of messages don’t need anything from your thinking. Those say “Nothing extra was needed for this message.” Occasionally Cranes couldn’t get things ready in time and the reply went ahead without it; that’s said plainly too.
